Year Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, outlined the company's new course: from "Mobile First" to " AI first ". Yesterday it underlined the concept by presenting a complete series of consumer products, the result of the synergy of hardware, software and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The interesting thing is that, unlike other players, who see Artificial Intelligence as a feature to add to their products, the Mountain View company tries to design products inspired by progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence and shaped around they. Pichai says the first question he asks is “How can we apply AI to rethink the product”? The strategy could prove successful in a world in which the hardware of consumer products is becoming more limited to similar, if not identical, components.
Furthermore, Google invested in "intelligent" software before the Canada Phone Number others and today can boast a notable competitive advantage. A recent Business Insider report calculated that Google's Artificial Intelligence systems have an IQ of 47.3, higher than Baidu (33), Bing (32) and Siri (24). Pichai's vision is to arrive at an “AI first” world in which: – people will be able to interact with technologies (computing) in a natural and seamless way – computational intelligence will be environmental, because it is embedded in different everyday objects – intelligent objects will be able to understand the context to provide the right answers, even anticipating needs – the software embedded in objects will learn from habits and constantly adapt.
The products presented yesterday all have a heart of Artificial Intelligence both because they all incorporate Google Assistant (the virtual assistant that was born as the personification of the search engine), and because thanks to algorithmic improvements they allow the value of objects to be increased. Let's look at some examples: Google Pixel 2 The new smartphone designed entirely by Big G., although not presenting revolutionary aspects, shows interesting improvements in the field of AI applied to photography and image recognition. The Pixel 2 has the best photographic performance on the market as demonstrated by the DXoMark benchmarks which assign it a score of 98 compared to the 94 of the iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Despite having only one rear camera it manages to surpass what the iPhone does with two cameras, thanks to software innovations.
